BA Animation And Graphic Design

At the end of three year BA Animation programme, the students will be able to:-

  • PO 1- Critical Thinking: Take informed actions after identifying the assumptions that frame our thinking and actions, checking out the degree to which these assumptions are accurate and valid, and looking at our ideas and decisions (intellectual, organizational, and personal) from different perspectives.
  • PO 2-Effective Communication: Speak, read, write and listen clearly in person and through electronic media in English and in one Indian language, and make meaning of the world by connecting people, ideas, books, media and technology
  • PO 3- Social Interaction: Elicit views of others, mediate disagreements and help reach conclusions in group settings.
  • PO 4- Effective Citizenship: Demonstrate empathetic social concern and equity centred national development, and the ability to act with an informed awareness of issues and participate in civic life through volunteering.

At the end of BA Animation programme the students will be capable of managing all the activities of an organization:-

  • PSO 1- Students should get knowledge through production process.
  • PSO 2- The program encourages innovation while stressing strong technical and presentation skills.
  • PSO 3- students learn about the application of physical laws.        
  • PSO 4- Students learn about effects .
  • PSO 5- Student gets ability to animation projects from its conceptual stage to the final Production creation.
  • PSO 6- To pursue further studies to get specialization in Animation .

After completing each course under three year BA Animation programme the students will be able :-

SEMESTER 1

  • English (Fine – tune your English)

    • CO1- Recognize the terms and concepts of elementary grammar
    • CO2- Analyze the situation where different grammatical units are used.
    • CO3- Identify the principles of language.
    • CO4- Contrast and determine the different usages with a grasp of their applications.
    • CO5- Outline the methods of using various levels of languages for conversation, documenting, speaking, and other forms of communication and correspondence.

  • History of Arts and Design

    • CO1 - Students made prehistoric visual representations got videos and pictures. And also cave paintings assignments.
    • CO2 - An industrial visit to printing press provides students to got details knowledge on printing industry.
    • CO3 - Students collect pictures of civilization period and made self study notes.
    • CO4 - The assignment on 14 th and 20 th art forms help the students understand that period.
    • CO5 - Students taken paper presentation on lithography.

  • Elements of Graphic Design

    • CO1 - Students can create design with the help of simple design components like paper cuttings etc.
    • CO2 - They can create non verbal communication methods like stick figures.
    • CO3 - Students can able to do posters.
    • CO4 - Can create tessellation patterns
    • CO5 - Students can learn about geometrical visualizations.

  • Rudiments of Animation Drawing

    • CO1 - Through this course student gets standing of drawing techniques for animation
    • CO2 - Students gets skills in drawing through various exercises.
    • CO3 - Students get skills in figure drawing
    • CO4 - Students learn about gesture drawing
    • CO5 - Students learn about different character types.

  • Techniques of Photographic Composition

    • CO1 - Students can compose a digital image as the like.
    • CO2 - Students create digital story visualization.
    • CO3 - Students can able to handle any type of digital camera
    • CO4 - Students can manipulate the light of the photograph with the help of software

SEMESTER 2

  • History of animation and Visual Effects

    • CO1 - Old films are shown on the theatre students can understand different type of films and history.
    • CO2 - Students understand various techniques in animation through films.
    • CO3 - Film created by pioneers are shown on the theatre to understand know about the pioneers of animation.
    • CO4 - Various screening and study process are given to students to understand a wide range of commercial and experimental works produced throughout the world.
    • CO5 - Experimental animation in various country shown on the theatre to learn about the different styles developed by different countries.

  • Planning for Animation

    • CO1 - Through brainstorming and critical analysis students got the idea for making effective animation.
    • CO2 - Students made a detailed per production of a movie project, even for live action and animation movie.
    • CO3 - Student trained on compositing frame and directing methodologies.
    • CO4 - Acting class made them a good animator and actor
    • CO5 - Students understand basic shot types.

  • Raster Graphics

    • CO1 - Students had got detailed knowledge about the professional studio techniques.
    • CO2 - Students had got detailed knowledge about the typographic treatment and special photographic effects in Adobe Photoshop.
    • CO3 - Students had got training on Photoshop drawing.
    • CO4 - Students got Photoshop tools and concept of layers.
    • CO5 - Students had got training on Photoshop channels and using filter and effects.

  • Vector Graphics

    • CO1 - Students can create simple drawings without any help of references.
    • CO2 - Students can learn about typography.
    • CO3 - Students can able to do vector illustration in software.
    • CO4 - Students can able to do simple geometric drawings.
    • CO5 - Students can make emblems.

  • STATISTICS FOR MANGEMENT

    • CO1 - Familiarising with the process of data analysis.
    • CO2 - Understanding the basic concepts of probability.
    • CO3 - Being capable of reaching findings for a hypothesis test about one or more mean distributions. Define how I Error and Type II Error relate to a hypothesis test.
    • CO4 - Familiarising in using χ2 for Goodness of Fit and 2-way contingency tables.
    • CO5 - Making the students understand how to use ANOVA.

SEMESTER 3

  • Character Designing for Animation

    • CO2 - Observing various movements students are able to grasp the essence of motion.

    • CO4 - Through the practical lab experiments students will be able to learn about weight, mass and material properties of objects.

  • Basics of 3D Animation

    • CO1 - Students will able to know Animation Equipment and there uses in production.
    • CO2 - Students have got skills to appropriately plan out their animated scenes visually
    • CO3 - Students will learn to demonstrate an understanding of composition and visual storytelling, understanding of character, and scene design
    • CO4 - Students have got the skill solid foundation of the principles animation.

  • Designing for Web

    • CO1 - Students got trained on software such as Dream weaver, Notepad++, etc...
    • CO2 - Students trained on UI design and web based interface.
    • CO3 - Various analysis of web site made students what happen in the current industry.
    • CO4 - Students trained on information structure in web sites.
    • CO5 - After completing the subject students made their on web sites and blogs

  • Stop Motion Animation

    • CO1- Students made animation project, like techniques and cut-out and stop-motion
    • CO2- Students got knowledge about animation movies.
    • CO3- Students create flipbook animation
    • CO4- Students got knowledge about the importance of acting in animation

    • CO1- Project to make use of the skills and knowledge and knowledge and using this skills and knowledge they create a short animation film.
    • CO2- At the time of submission students have to submit final project accompanied by a written component.
    • CO3- Utilising the skills and techniques students create a short film and explore most of the animation techniques.
    • CO4- Students will be able to share their specific area of expertise while producing individual directed projects.
