MCA - Master of Computer Application


After completion of the programme, the students are able to:-

  • PO 1- Communicate Effectively: Incúlcate effective communication skills combined with professional & ethical attitude with the computing community and also the society by comprehending and writing effective reports and documentation, making effective presentations and providing and receiving clear instructions.
  • PO 2- Individual & Team Work: Function effectively in diverse teams as team leader and team member on multidisciplinary projects to demonstrate computing and management skills.
  • PO 3- Problem Analysis: Identify, critically analyze and formulate complex problems in multidisciplinary domains reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of Mathematics, Sciences and Engineering.

At the end of MCA programme the students will be capable of managing all the activities of an organization:-

SEMESTER 1

  • MCACT 101 Mathematical & Statistical Foundation For Computer Applications

    • CO1- Understand the basics of Set theory, Relations and Functions and their application in the Computer Science field
    • CO2- apply the Rules of inference to solve applied problems.
    • CO3- be familiar with the basic concepts of Probability Theory and Sampling Techniques.
    • CO4- design a Probability model/ test of significance to solve a real-world problem.

  • MCACT102 Digital Logic & Computer Organization

    • CO1 - to do arithmetic operations on binary and understand different binary codes used in communication.
    • CO2 - At the end of the course,students will be able to perform the analysis and design of various digital electronic circuits.
    • CO3 - Students will be able to understand the internal organization of computers, memory units.
    • CO4 - Students will get knowledge about advanced computer architecture.

  • MCACT 103 Structured programming in C

    • CO1 - Having a deep knowledge in application-oriented C programming features.
    • CO2 - Able to solve problems and implement it using various programming constructs.
    • CO3 - Identify the significance of C language as a very strong programming foundation.

  • MCACT 104 Software Engineering and Object oriented modelling

    • CO1 - At the end of this Course, the participants may get basic insights into the need and importance of software engineering.
    • CO2 - After completing this course, the Participants will get familiar with the activities in different phases of software engineering.
    • CO3 - After completing the course, the participants will get familiarized with the basics of UML tools used for object oriented modeling.

  • MCACT 105 Database technology and NoSql

    • CO1 - Describe the architecture and functioning of Database Management Systems.
    • CO2 - Apply the principles of data modeling using Entity Relationship and develop a good database design.
    • CO3 - Create and maintain a relational database using SQL and its advanced features.
    • CO4 - Apply Normalization techniques to normalize a database.
    • CO5 - Illustrate the techniques for controlling the consequences of concurrent data access and crash recovery.

    • CO2 - Formulate queries to perform Insert, update and delete, select and rollback operations in a database.

    • CO1 - Select and model data using primitive and structured types.
    • CO2 - Construct programs that demonstrate effective use of C features including arrays, structures & Pointers.
    • CO3 - Handle various sorting and searching techniques.
    • CO4 - Create and manipulate Files using various file handling functions.
    • CO5 - Design and implement an application for a given problem domain.

  • MCACT 108 Employability Skill Training-Phase 1

    • CO1 - Do self-assessment of strengths and weaknesses; identify what is lacking for a better personality and improve on it.
    • CO2 - Solve Quantitative, Verbal and Logical Reasoning and Comprehension problems in IT recruitment drives and other competitive exams.
    • CO3 - Organize and write an effective Cover Letter and Resume.

SEMESTER 2

  • MCACT 201 Optimization Techniques for Computer Applications

    • CO1 - may get basic insights into Applications of Operations Research in Managerial Decision Making.
    • CO2 - will get familiar with Scientific Tools and Models in OR for analysing the Business.
    • CO3 - will be able to understand basics of Decision Science.

  • MCACT 202 Data structures and Algorithm Analysis

    • CO1 - Have deep knowledge about the organization of data structures, Arrays, Linked Lists, Stacks, Queues, Trees and Graphs..
    • CO2 - be able to select the appropriate data structures for solving the given problem.
    • CO3 - be familiar with different sorting and searching methods and their features.
    • CO4 - Know the various algorithm design strategies and their applications. Thus will be able to choose the more suitable method for the given scenario.

  • MCACP 306 Advance Operating System Lab using Linux

    • CO1 - Run various Linux commands on a standard LINUX Operating system (Ubuntu flavor of the Linux Operating system is preferred).
    • CO2 - Manage Files and directories in Linux operating system.
    • CO3 - familiarize process creation, scheduling task and work with networking utilities.
