“The light of knowledge can never dawn on the proud” (Mahatma Gandhi)

Gandhismrithi is an initiative of Santhigiri College to propagate the life message of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of our nation, a great political and spiritual leader. Gandhismrithi will promote the vision of Gandhiji on education and disseminate the message of Gandhiji on non-violence, peace, equality, justice etc. among the students. Students will be made aware of the Gandhian philosophy that has attracted the entire mankind. Conferences, seminars, workshops etc. will be conducted to illuminate the students on the life of Gandhiji. We also plan to make Inter-disciplinary research on Gandhian philosophy. This centre will also undertake activities for the marginalised and weaker sections of our society drawing inspiration from the Darshan of Gandhi. Gandhismrithi is expected to bring attitudinal changes in the life of our students. The words of Mahatma Gandhi should inspire our students to work for peace and brotherhood in our country – “ Non-violence is the greatest force at the disposal of mankind. It is mightier than the mightiest weapon of destruction devised by the ingenuity of man”.
