The first activity of this academic year was started by celebrating the world environment day on June 05. Saplings of Jackfruit (Vietnam) and Rambutan(N18) were planted on this occasion in the college. The first sapling was planted by principal of the college, Rev. Dr. Fr. Baby Joseph and the manager of the college, Rev.Fr. Paul Parakattel together. The second sapling was planted jointly by the POs, members and student volunteers of the college NSS. A message on the occasion was delivered by the Principal and the Manager of the college.

As part of the Blood Donor Day, IMA blood centre (Thodupuzha) has acknowledged the college and the NSS unit along with other selected institutions for the outstanding service rendered in the voluntary Blood Donation Camp. A memento along with a certificate of appreciation was received by the NSS Coordinators along with the volunteers. The program was conducted and organised by the doctors in-charge of IMA blood bank, Thodupuzha serving various positions with the support of local governing bodies. The meeting began at 3 PM and concluded at 4.30 PM.

NSS unit of Santhigiri College in association with Idukki district jail, Muttom, conducted a mime show based on theme of the day. The event was organised to create awareness among jail inmates charged for drug use. Major partners of the event were District jail, Idukki, Kerala State Aids Control Society, District Mental Health Centre, National Service Scheme, Santhigiri College. The event was organised and hosted by Sri. Sameer. A, Superintend, Idukki district jail and inaugurated by Dr. Babin, D.M.H.P, Idukki. A poster designing competition on the theme, ‘drug abuse’ was conducted for the prison inmates and three best posters were given prize. The inmates were given awareness class on the negative effects of drug usage by Dr. Babin. Then an oath against drug use was taken. A mime show based on the theme of the day was performed by the NSS unit of the college.The event concluded with a signature campaign.
