The visit was conducted by the Department of Social Work in association with the Department of Psychology as part of experiential learning for students. The program was scheduled to take place in Kannur on February 26–27.
The observation visit aimed to provide students with practical exposure to social service institutions and their functioning. During the visit, students had the opportunity to interact with professionals, observe organizational activities, and understand various social welfare initiatives. The institutions included in the visit were Kairos, EIC Thanal, and Holymount, which are known for their contributions to social care and rehabilitation services.
Such observation visits play an important role in bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world practice. By visiting these institutions, students were able to gain deeper insights into community service, social work practices, and psychological support systems. The program also helped students develop empathy, professional awareness, and a better understanding of the challenges faced by different sections of society.
