The first round of Star of Santhigiri 2023 was held on 10th and 11th of January. There were 65 candidates at the initial stage. The round was based on talent. Each candidate got a chance to express their talents in a most creative way followed by which 25 students were selected to the next round.
On 13/01/2023 at 10.30am Fr. Paul Parakkattel CMI, Principal announced the final 25 contestants of Star of Santhigiri and distributed a badge showing the contestants chess numbers for the following rounds.
Three grooming sessions were conducted for round 2 with 25 participants.
IGNITE: THE PATH I HAVE GONE THROUGH IS NOW YOURS
'Ignite' which was designed to give 25 selected candidates the opportunity to explore their creativity and develop skills was honoured by Ms Anitta Joshy, the former Star of Santhigiri and stand up comedian at Mazhavil Manorama.
The 2nd session was an orientation class on public speaking by the former assistant professor from department of computer science, Mr. Sebastian Cyriac.
The final grooming session groomed to be groom was conducted by Adv. Suja Jamarin, HOD of the department of social work. The session helped the candidates to understand the value of social commitment and their contribution to the society after winning the title 'Star of Santhigiri'.
The 2nd round ended with a public performance which opened the eyes of the audience on the topic 'Just Say no to drugs'. It projected the creative side of 25 candidates.
The round 3 was followed by which 10 candidates were selected to Semi final. The selected 10 candidates are announced by the Principal and they were given a Sash representing their chess numbers on Semi final round
There were 2 round for Semi-Finals(off-stage and on-stage round).
The first round was an off-stage round , “LITERATURE ROUND” it was conducted to evaluate the writing skills of the candidates.
The 2nd round of the semi-finals was an on-stage round. The candidates were given the opportunity to share their experience of the journey from selection till the semi-finals, along with a task to express their acting skills.
The finale of Star of Santhigiri was conducted on 15th February, 2023 at Marian auditorium.
