WORKSHOP ON INTRODUCTION TO COGNITIVE BEHAVIOUR THERAPY
Department of Psychology organized CBT training programme for psychology students on 14th July2023. The resource person was Mr.Bright Jacob, Clinical psychologist and the therapist. Major aim of the programme was to provide students with practical exposure to practising CBT through which they could get a glimpse on the practise of CBT and different dynamics in the practice of CBT.
The Psychology Department organized a mental health day to enhance students' psychology awareness and promote understanding of psychological knowledge. Students received education on the significance of psychology to foster awareness skills.
Day 1 – Exhibition (MANONJANA)
The Psychology Department organized an exhibition on psychological games and tests, aiming to enhance psychological skills and awareness about their applications. This event was a continuous program that lasted for three days.
Almost 300 students from nearby schools have visited the exhibition. The exhibition was conducted from 9.10.23 -11.10.23 .
The exhibition educated students on various types of psychological tests, psychological disorders and treatment approach. Students learned about the relevance and applications of psychological tests.
The program successfully fostered a common understanding and deeper knowledge among students about psychological tests, meeting its objective of creating awareness in this regard. A total of 340 students from different schools have participated in the exhibition.
Day 2 - Crime Investigation (MANOSAMASYA)
On October 11, 2023, a two-hour crime investigation competition was held, Providing students with a valuable opportunity to enhance their investigative skills. The event aimed to sharpen participants' abilities in the field of crime investigation.
Day 3 – JPMR (MANOMUKTHI)
This program aimed to raise awareness about Jacobson's progressive muscular relaxation (JPMR), emphasizing the contemporary need for psychological relaxation. JPMR provides deep relaxation for the mind and body and helps in treating tension headaches, migraines, insomnia, high blood pressure etc. This session helped participants in deep relaxation .
Day 4 – Cultural Event (MANONAATYA)
A dance competition was conducted based on various themes related to mental health.
